About

As a young leader in advocacy, I personally designed Auburn University's first LGBTQ+ Studies curriculum through the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, combining my academic passion with a commitment to change-making. Serving as the 2023-2024 Chief Justice for the Student Government Association, I honed my leadership and decision-making skills while championing equity and fairness within my university.

Driven by a passion for advocating for marginalized and underserved communities, particularly the LGBTQ+ community, I aim to make a meaningful impact through law, policy, and leadership. I am currently scheduled to complete an Advanced Paralegal Certification from UCLA by March 2026.

When I’m not advocating for change, you can find me pursuing personal fitness goals, experimenting in the kitchen, or immersing myself in the world of video games.

Let’s connect, collaborate, and explore how we can create a more inclusive and equitable future together!

LGBTQ+ Studies

LGBTQ+ studies is an interdisciplinary field that explores the experiences, histories, and cultures of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. It examines issues related to sexuality, gender identity, and the social, political, and economic factors that impact these groups. Through critical analysis and research, LGBTQ+ studies aims to promote understanding and advocate for equality, while challenging norms and stereotypes surrounding gender and sexuality.

Business

Interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis on business offers unique approach to understanding the complexities of the modern marketplace. This program integrates knowledge from various fields, such as economics, sociology, and communication, preparing students to tackle real-world challenges. By fostering critical thinking and collaborative skills, graduates are equipped to innovate and lead in dynamic business environments. This emphasis not only enhances traditional business acumen but also promotes a holistic understanding of how different disciplines intersect in the business world.

Spanish

In an interdisciplinary studies degree, Spanish as an area of emphasis offers students a unique opportunity to explore the rich cultural, historical, and linguistic aspects of Spanish-speaking communities. This emphasis equips students with valuable language skills and cultural insights that enhance their understanding of global issues and diverse perspectives. By integrating Spanish with other disciplines students can develop a well-rounded approach to problem-solving and communication in a multicultural world. This focus prepares graduates for various careers in education, international relations, and business, among others.

My Commitments

Empowerment

I am committed to empowering underrepresented and marginalized communities through education, advocacy, and legal reform. Whether through my work developing Auburn’s first LGBTQ+ Studies curriculum or through research that uplifts the business case for diversity and inclusion, I strive to create spaces where others feel seen, valued, and equipped to lead.

Professional Guidance

As a future civil rights attorney, I recognize the importance of mentorship and professional development in building more equitable systems. I am committed to seeking and offering guidance across disciplines — law, policy, business, and social justice — to foster collaboration and growth among aspiring advocates, students, and community leaders.

Safety Advocacy

My work in Title IX policy analysis and equal opportunity compliance has deepened my commitment to ensuring safe, inclusive environments in education and beyond. I advocate for policies and practices that prevent harm, protect vulnerable populations, and uphold everyone’s right to learn, work, and live without fear of discrimination or violence.

What is Interdisciplinary Studies

Interdisciplinary studies is an academic approach that integrates concepts, theories, and methods multiple disciplines to address complex issues or questions. Being an interdisciplinarian means embracing this collaborative mindset, allowing for a holistic understanding of topics by drawing on diverse fields such as science, humanities, and social sciences. This approach fosters critical thinking and innovation, as it encourages individuals to think beyond traditional boundaries and explore connections between various areas of knowledge. Ultimately, interdisciplinarians aim to create more comprehensive solutions to real-world challenges.

Projects

Senior Thesis

My senior thesis examines the financial, reputational, and legal impacts of corporate LGBTQ+ inclusion and DEI rollbacks in the United States, using Amazon, Walmart, Apple, and Costco as case studies. Through a comparative analysis of each company’s DEI policy changes, consumer and shareholder responses, and long-term brand equity, I argue that sustained LGBTQ+ inclusion not only aligns with civil rights principles but also strengthens corporate identity and market performance. Drawing from polling data, corporate reports, and media coverage, the thesis highlights how inclusion efforts can serve as both a moral imperative and a strategic business advantage in an increasingly polarized socio-political climate.

Internship

During my internship with Auburn University’s Office of Equal Opportunity Compliance, I conducted a comprehensive comparative analysis of Title IX policies, resources, and web accessibility across all 16 SEC institutions, using Auburn as a baseline. My work involved evaluating key areas such as reporting procedures, supportive measures, pregnancy accommodations, and grievance processes to identify institutional strengths and areas for improvement. In addition to producing a deliverable report for the university, I shadowed Title IX investigations and learned about the case-writing process, further developing my understanding of compliance, equity, and institutional accountability. This experience deepened my commitment to civil rights law and strengthened my skills in legal analysis, policy evaluation, and advocacy.

Paralegal Certification

I am currently pursuing my Paralegal Certification through UCLA Extension and am on track to graduate as an Advanced Certified Paralegal with a specialization in Discovery. This certification is an intentional step in my broader journey toward a career in civil rights law, allowing me to build hands-on legal experience and sharpen my research, writing, and case management skills. After completing the program, I plan to work as a paralegal with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), where I hope to support legal efforts that advance LGBTQ+ equality and social justice. This role will serve as a critical foundation before entering law school, bridging my academic background with practical experience in the legal field.
